Mr. Patrick Cassidy, a St. Albert resident for the past 40 years, has a diversified construction, design and sports-related background.  Mr. Cassidy owns his own design-build construction company and is partners in a development company, as well as Athletes Nation Sports Performance Centre, Prospect Magazine and the Edmonton Prospects Baseball Club.

"I love people who have big dreams, and big aspirations and have the intestinal fortitude and the commitment required to pursue their passions.  Whether it's business owners that have a great idea for a great new project, or aspiring athletes that come into our facility at Athletes Nation, I'm going to be the last person on earth to tell them it can't be done.  In fact, chances are I'll tell them otherwise and then go about finding a way to help them get there, wherever "there" might be!"

 

Don Henderson

Mr. Don Henderson is a management and marketing consultant that specializes in strategic and operational planning, marketing and government relations.

Don served as an executive for Molson Breweries of Canada for 10 years, and has been active with the Chamber of Commerce in three provinces including Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia.  He has served as a Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce as well.

Don has been involved in sports during his business career and personal life.  This has included negotiating and managing a wide range of sports properties, including NHL marketing agreements, international skiing, CFL and minor football, auto sports and managing special events.  Don is a former President of the Edmonton Huskies Junior Football Club and was a Director of the Edmonton Monarchs Hockey Club. 

Nick Wilson

Mr. Nick Wilson is a 10 year resident of St. Albert. He is an experienced Sport Management Executive who has worked for the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club for 10 years in a mix of business operations including Vice President Operations of the Edmonton Oil Kings Hockey Club, Director of Licensing and Merchandising and Special Projects including the Project Management role for the Heritage Classic NHL Outdoor Hockey Game.

He was a long time sport organization leader in alpine skiing including the position of Vice President and COO.  Nick spent 10 years on the slopes coaching the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and was Womens Team Head Coach. He was an alpine ski racer and attended the Sarajevo Olympics finishing 16th in slalom.

St. Albert Sports City is a natural fit with Nick's vision for St. Albert in the future, and also a natural place for the use of his sports experiences and understanding of core business skills.

Mr. Terry Nistor is proud to be part of a passionate and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to the development of St. Albert Sports City.

Terry brings many years of experience as a successful business owner and has an extensive background in sports and entertainment marketing, sales, promotions and special events management.

For the past four years Terry has been the publisher of Prospect Magazine, a magazine of the highest quality dedicated to providing visibility and recognition to amateur athletes from across the province of Alberta. “By recognizing the efforts and achievements of our athletes at the grass roots level, I hope to provide the inspiration that is needed for people of all ages to become more active and receive the positive benefits that arise from participating in any level of sports or athletic activity”. Prospect Magazine also features current and informative educational articles written by highly respected authorities on nutrition, sports injuries and prevention, sports therapy, coaching and more.

Terry has served the community by volunteering his time as a board member for the Citadel Theatre and TELUS. He has chaired a number of committees to help raise funds for non for profit organizations such as Child Find Alberta and the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Society of Alberta.

Dale Roy

Mr. Dale Roy, a St. Albert resident, brings a wealth of sales, marketing and project management experience to the project.  He provides over 20 years experience in broadcasting, sales and marketing management, promotions and events management. 

He has been very involved with sports and special events in the community, having served 3 years as a director and manager of the Edmonton Cracker-Cats Baseball Club and has been a volunteer, director or chairman of other sports events including the Alberta Winter Games, Canadian National Midget Baseball Championships, Alberta Snowmobile Association Trade Shows, Alberta Soccer Association International Events, the Ft. McMurray Oil Barons Dream Home Lottery, and a variety of other events and functions.

"I look forward to participating in the development of St. Albert Sports City, this unique project is sure to be the envy of all other communities and will prove to be a showcase for smart planning and development." 

  

Dan LaJoie

Mr. Dan LaJoie is a former semi-professional baseball player and coach who began specializing in sport-specific athletic training while coaching in the Central Independent Baseball League in Kansas. 

Dan has honed his skill and knowledge under the guidance and tutelage of such renowned experts as Canadian Olympic Trainer Tudor O. Bompa, Canada's former Track & Field Coach and now the late Charlie Francis, the University of Nebraska Husker Power Programs' founder Boyd Epley, and former Hungarian Olympic Coach Istvan Javorak.  Dan is the current Director of Athletic Performance at Athletes Nation and has his NSCA Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist [CSCS].

Mr. Ian Evans is a Principal of Hodgson Schilf Architects Inc. and Senior Designer who is responsible for ensuring a high quality design standard within the office.  Ian is a graduate from Carleton University with more than fourteen years of experience concentrated in the planning and design aspects of the projects he has been involved with.  Ian is highly talented and has a diverse background in urban development, healthcare, retail, commercial office, and education related projects.  Ian is committed to the highest possible design standards for all our projects and strives to deliver innovative and successful design solutions appropriate to the needs of clients. Prior to being one of the principal founders of Hodgson Schilf Architects, Ian spent 3 years in Hong Kong working on Urban Masterplanning and Architectural projects in China, 3 years as an Architectural Designer with Dunlop Architects Inc. (now Stantec) in Toronto and 5 years with a large Western Canadian Architecture, Interior Design and Planning firm in Edmonton.
